Fused Alumina is made in an electric arc furnace by passing a current between vertical carbon electrodes. The heat generated from this procedure melts the alumina feedstock.

Product information

Alumina (also known as Corundum or Aluminium Oxide) is the family name for inorganic compounds with the chemical formula Al2O3.

LKAB Minerals offer Brown and White Fused Alumina for the Refractory industry.

Our Alumina product range is available in 25kg paper sacks, 1000kg bulk bags, or as bulk as standard.

Mineral information

Brown Fused Alumina is a dense material produced from bauxite raw material. The end product has a low iron content making it particularly valuable in refractory applications.

White Fused Alumina is produced by fusing calcined alumina. It is white in colour, a dense mineral with predominantly large Alpha Alumina crystals. With a high purity, high melting point, and a superior hardness, this product is well suited to refractory and ceramics industries.
