LKAB is divided into two divisions; Business Area Iron Ore has been in operation since 1890 and is the core of the business.

The second division, Business Area Special Products consists of businesses that either develop and supply products and services to LKAB to increase competitiveness or to create value in other markets. This includes; industrial minerals, water-powered drilling solutions, explosives, mechanical services, and mining and construction services.

Our ambition is to grow the Business Area Special Products to broaden and strengthen LKAB. A significant part of the growth is expected to come from the expansion of our industrial mineral business through LKAB Minerals. We are growing through organic growth, technical innovation, and acquisitions. We have strong sustainability ambitions to maximise the resource efficiency of mined materials.
