The process of recycling refractory materials involves sorting to remove contamination either at the site of origin or at one of our own sites before being primary crushed and dried. Material is then processed to individual customer specifications. Chemical analysis is carried out on at each stage of the process to ensure consistency.

    Magnesia materials in refractory applications

    Our range of magnesia recycled materials are used in a number of applications including as a full or partial replacement to virgin materials in monolithic and shaped refractories. Our recycled materials are a cost efficient alternative to virgin materials.

  • Steel crucible with molten steel and slag forming on top

    Magnesia recycled materials as metallurgical additives

    Our magnesia based recycled refractory materials are suitable as additives for slag conditioning applications. Additionally, the slag conditioning mix can be processed at our own toll manufacturing site.

  • 1-3mm (-3+1mm)
  • 0-1mm (-1mm)
  • 0-250μm (-60#)
  • 0-150μm (-100#)

Our Magnesia recycled materials are available in 25kg paper sacks, 1000kg bulk bags or as bulk as standard.

LKAB Minerals recycled materials originate predominantly from steel and cement works. Material is recovered and sorted either at the site of origin or at one of our processing sites.
