At the recent Wire China in Shanghai we highlighted the features and benefits of our natural halogen free fire retardant UltraCarb to the Asian audience.
At this 7th international trade fair for the wire and cable attracting visitors from across China and further afield we were pleased to welcome them onto our stand to talk flame retardancy for cable compounds.
A flame retardant with proven success
You can read more about our UltraCarb product range by clicking here;talking functionality of the product to compounders enabled us to highlight the huge benefits for cable compounds. This unique 3-stage mechanism of the product where water and carbon dioxide are released upon exposure to fire provides compounders with an additional benefit unseen with competitive flame retardant minerals.
With a thermal decomposition temperature of 220oC UltraCarb can withstand high processing temperatures. This mineral FR also forms a stable cementitious char and provides smoke suppression. UltraCarb can be used in a wide variety of polymers including polyethylene, polypropylene and PVC to name a few.
Serving the Asian cable market
From our base in Hong Kong we are able to supply minerals across the region; Aaron Chen, our sales director for Asia Pacific, highlights the importance of Wire China to our future success. “We are excited to have met so many new companies at Wire China; especially medium and small scale cable compounders who are typically very open in trying new things which brings good opportunities for UltraCarb as a new flame retardant in the Chinese cable market.
